The Knots We Leave Behind

The Knots We Leave Behind materializes a psychological landscape of nostalgia and remembrance, accumulation, and unbridled growth. In the installation, knots are visual representations of problems, memories, thoughts, feelings, and concerns that hauntingly encroach on this corner of the Loudoun House in Lexington, Kentucky.

This installation was on view at the Lexington Art League’s alternative exhibition space in the Summer of 2020.

Although it is a site-specific installation, it has been reinstalled in different configurations.

The Knots We Leave Behind, natural fibers and wire, 12 x 8 x 5 feet
